Warroad Community Partners planted its seeds in the summer of 2014, when a group of community members formed Warroad Young Professionals.

Three years later they joined forces with the recent graduates of the Blandin Community Leadership Program and formed Warroad Community Partners.

This expanded the scope of membership to include anyone who was community-minded and passionate about making Warroad an amazing place to call home.

Events & Activities

Events and activities are the bread and butter of Warroad Community Partners! From its inception, this group has always been about bringing people together, and what better way than with community events! Warroad Community Partners has served as the coordinator and fiscal agent of multiple community events and is excited in 2023 to offer a full roster event including FriluftFest, Taste of Warroad, Northborn Days, Yellow Rose Day, and Light Up the Holidays, and many more. There is a strong connection between community events and community pride. They provide the unique opportunity to bring the whole community together for a common purpose and local businesses, artisans, and musicians are highlighted. Events turn a town into your community and make living here fun and special. This is how we drive positive and memorable change in our community.

Civic Engagement

Warroad Community Partners provides ongoing community leadership in areas of civic engagement. The unique makeup of our organization determines how we engage in the community. We look to our membership to share their passions and interests with the group and pursue efforts that align. In past years, a member who was a landscaper intent on beautifying outdoor spaces spearheaded a community clean-up day. A mom who spent time at the outdoor pool noticed the growing weed problem and rallied other community members to help pick them. When the school was considering renovations and a referendum was on the ballot, Warroad Community Partners supported these efforts and engaged voters. Similarly, when there were school board member vacancies, WCP coordinated a forum for citizens to learn more about each candidate’s platform. In 2023, we will establish a Newcomer’s Welcome Program, building on work that has already been done, so that those who choose to join our community have the opportunity to feel welcomed, get involved, and make Warroad their home.

Personal Growth & Development

Promoting growth, engagement, and networking opportunities for our membership is the final area of focus for Warroad Community Partners. As our logo depicts, we are all links in a chain, and a chain is only effective if each link is operating properly. So while WCP is focused on bringing people together and collectively working toward a common goal, we want each member to have the opportunity to learn more about themselves and grow as an individual along the way. Again, the areas of interest within our membership will determine the personal growth and development opportunities we offer. Past opportunities included entrepreneur exchanges where local entrepreneurs shared their experiences with the group. Speakers were invited to share on topics like personal finance and retirement, and a community leadership retreat was offered.
